Briefing from Universities at Shady Grove on their recently funded 4th academic building - Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Education Facility (BSE) – The Chamber helped to advocate for the funding for the new building. It will be a great addition to an already great educational asset.

Wine Tasting
The GGCC will hold its 13th Annual Wine Tasting at the Kentlands Mansion. Each ticket includes a wine-tasting glass and tastings.

This year’s wine tasting features a guided wine tasting tutorial four featured wines compliments of Pinky & Pepe of Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape. Also attendees will receive a special discount coupon to use that week in the Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape Kentlands store.
The wine will be paired with delicious food from Asia Nine; Nalley Fresh, Not Your Average Joe's; Savory Gourmet Catering & Events and fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate will be served compliments of the Melting Pot Gaithersburg. And bundtinis will be served by Nothing Bundt Cakes

How do I find the money to start my business? How do I fund my start-up? How do I find ways to make my project stand out?
Funding is the fuel on which a business runs. A business can take different avenues to attain funding, and more than one option can be used. This entrepreneur series - FUNDING - will discuss the options on how one can secure a variety of funding options & help improve your odds of success.
The morning will begin with our Keynote Speaker Elie Ashery, President/CEO of Gold Lasso, who will speak about funding.
He will be followed by a panel discussion of entrepreneurs that include: Kay Hechler, Owner, Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa and Leigh Press, President, PCC Construction Components, Inc. and more. Each panelist will share their funding story

Celebrate Gaithersburg
The 34th Annual Celebrate! Gaithersburg Festival will draw an entire community to Gaithersburg’s historic city center. The one-day event is scheduled for Sunday, June 12, 2016, from noon to 5 p.m., and will include multiple stages of live entertainment, food, and themed activity areas for all ages and interests.
Celebrate! Gaithersburg in Olde Towne street festival takes place in and around the intersection of Summit and Diamond Avenues.
Free shuttle service is available to and from satellite parking at Lakeforest Shopping Center. Additional parking is available at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, less than a quarter mile from the festival area.

The GGCC will honor local heroes from Public Safety personnel of the Upcounty for their courageous, life-saving actions at the 21st Annual Public Safety Awards Breakfast.
