Nonprofit Lunch-n-Learn: Montgomery County Grants Program
TOPIC: Montgomery County Grants Program
Opportunities for 2024 and Beyond
SPEAKER: RAFAEL MURPHY,
DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF GRANTS MANAGEMENT
Director Murphy will give insight to grants available today, upcoming grants, steps to prepare for grants and how the grants will be reviewed and approved.
Also, Montgomery County Council announced that $1.5 million will be available in 2024 through two new grant programs for County nonprofit organizations that work with "underserved communities." Both programs are intentionally very flexible to allow nonprofits to identify their own needs and new programs best suited to support their communities.
The Office of Grants Management was established by the County Council through Bill 36-19 in July of 2021. This Office will provide the County with a localized hub regarding all grant related issues in Montgomery County government. OGM is the principal point of contact regarding all grants that the county receives or awards, in addition to providing instruction regarding grants management, developing policies and procedures related to grants management, and performing outreach to educate the public regarding county grants.
