Join us at the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber Annual Business Golf Classic - not to be missed! Incredible prizes, golf contests, delicious breakfast and lunch buffets, and drinks await you on this unique golf experience.  A portion of the proceeds from contests and raffles at the Business Golf Classic supports the GGCC’s scholarship programs at Montgomery College.

 

The 2024 GGCC Business Golf Classic is a scramble format, and will be held on October 1, 2024 at Worthington Manor Golf Club.

Schedule of Events:  

  • 8:00am: Registration & networking, Hearty Traditional breakfast buffet, Mimosa/Bloody Mary Bar
  • 9:00am: Putt-a-Rama Contest, then assemble at carts
  • 9:30am: Shotgun Start, Scramble format
  • Assume 5-6 hours on course: The fun includes Beat the Pro, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole in One, Heckle Hole, Putting contest, Open Beverage/snack carts on the course all day! Want to bring your own business's brand of fun to the tournament? Give us your ideas! 
  • ~3:00pm or as golfers finish: Putt-off finals as golfers finish
  • ~3:00pm or as golfers finish the course: Lunch includes a delicious BBQ Buffet and bar beverage at the clubhouse
  • ~3:30pm Awards Ceremony & Networking: as soon as everyone is enjoying the BBQ lunch and a beverage, we'll give awards in the cluhouse, and we'll announce the 50/50 winner and post the 50/50 2nd chance winners!

 

All Golfer Registrations include:

  • cart, cart signs & scorecards, complete bag handling services, printed rules of play, tournament scoring.  
  • hearty breakfast with a mimosa/bloody mary bar before the shotgun start

**GGCC Brings Back the Long-Loved Germantown on October 5, 2024 from 11 am - 5 pm | Celebrating Our Unique and Vibrant Community**

Germantown, MD, the third most populous community in Maryland, and one of the most diverse in the country, is all set to share the spirit of Oktoberfest in a grand celebration that promises something for everyone! This year, the Germantown Oktoberfest will not only reflect the traditional elements of Oktoberfest, but will be an ode to the diverse community it serves in a free celebration perfect for the whole family! Montgomery County Councilmember Marilyn Balcombe says, “The Germantown Oktoberfest was our signature event for many, many years. I am thrilled it is coming back to Germantown.” The event is centered in Germantown Town Center along Century Blvd. Event partner BlackRock Center for the Arts will host the hub of activities on its grand lawn and surrounding streets.

The main elements of the event, organized by the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) in partnership with, and with funding support for the business district granted by the County Executive and County Council, include:

  • Community parade
  • The MoCo Show Biergarten
  • iHeart Radio Oktoberfest Stage with live music and DJ entertainment
  • DC 101 pop-up with games featuring the Commanders’ Major Tuddy and Commanders’ Cheerleaders
  • the Lil’ Pumpkins Activities for children - a pumpkin patch, Spooky Dance Party, and Costume parades - with BlackRock Center for the Arts
  • BSO Music Box Series Performances inside BlackRock Center for the Arts
  • Children's carnival by Great Kids Events and activities sponsored by TopGolf
  • GGCC Business Expo
  • Painting Pop Up with We Art Fun sponsored by the Fairchild Apartments
  • Food trucks, food and drink specials from local restaurants
  • After-party deals to keep the fun alive after the event ends at 5 pm.
