We have once again teamed up with the Maryland Black Chamber, the Maryland Hispanic Chamber, the Washington County Chamber, and the Frederick Hispanic Chamber for a mixer, but this time we’re taking it to the hard court! Join the crowd on Friday, May 10th and help us cheer on the Frederick Flying Cows.

Ticket information is listed below, this event is family friendly and we encourage you to bring out the whole family to join the fun!

Facilitated by Denise Fredericks (Mercy Health Clinic) and Deborah Zimmer (Universities at Shady Grove), this group will explore professional development and strategic planning topics specifically of interest to our GGCC Nonprofit members, as well as highlight one of our members each month! The group will meet with 2nd Monday each month (time might vary by month), on zoom for now.

FIELD TRIP: MC Biotechnology Program Tour with Dr. Collins Jones

• Once you turn into campus on Observation Drive from Germantown Rd (118), follow the road past the baseball field on the right, tennis courts on the left and first parking lot on the right, past the flag poles to the stop sign.
• You are heading up the “hill” toward the building with the bright lights visible in the upper windows – that is the Bioscience Education Center (BEC).
• At the stop sign past the flagpole turn right into the parking lot – this lot has the water tower painted like a globe of the earth. The BEC building is directly across the street.
• Park in any white lined space, cross the street and enter the BEC building. Dr. Collins will meet us in the lobby.
• Masks are optional. 

Through the Gaithersburg-Germantown Economic Development & Legislative Affairs Committee, the Chamber will proactively work with City, County and State Leaders to support the Economic Development of Gaithersburg, Germantown and surrounding jurisdictions, and represent the GGCC and its members in a pro-active manner in the formulation of state and local legislation and policy affecting the business community. These meetings are open to all members to attend and learn more about the various economic and legislative topics impacting businesses in our area.

The Membership Attraction and Retention (MAR) Committee is charged with: maintaining a strong growth in membership through targeted new member recruitment activities that effectively communicate the value of membership to community businesses; Promoting the ongoing value of membership to member businesses through personalized contacts with member business representatives and other initiatives that monitor member needs, member satisfaction, and their perception of Chamber Value; communicating the Return On Investment to Members and engaging them in GGCC activities.

Our expert mixologists from Silver Diner at the Rio will guide you through an exclusive Mixology Class from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Learn the art of crafting two signature cocktails: the refreshing Summertime Smash and the nostalgic Grandma's Lemonade. With limited spots available, secure your spot early as the max headcount for this class is 18 people. The Mixology Class is a paid event priced at $20, which includes the cost of the class, two handcrafted cocktails, and delectable light bites featuring items from the Silver Diner expanded Happy Hour menu.

Following the class, transition seamlessly into a Happy Hour networking event from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This portion of the evening is open to all and free of charge, providing ample opportunity to mingle, connect, and enjoy further selections from our Happy Hour menu.

This is a GGCC community engagement series -developed to build community and bridge gaps between our community and those that protect us.

This is a chance to grab a cup of coffee and join in the conversation with officers from the City of Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, and nearby jurisdictions. So make sure to bring your ideas, comments, and questions!

The Professional Development series is geared toward our Chamber’s Young Professionals Group, but is open and relevant to all members! Attendance is free for our YPG professionals, and others are encouraged to attend, share their experiences with and learn from our earlier-career members, and are also encouraged to make an optional donation of their choice to help support future Professional Development events.
